What is so special about the Louisiana Coast...??

So many people have never heard about the special things around the Louisiana Coast. These people do not know what they are missing... oh, are YOU one of these people? Please allow me to explain. The Louisiana Coast offers sights and activities for everyone. There is nothing else like it in the country.

Do you like professional sports? Well, here you will find the NFL team of the New Orleans Saints, NBA team of the New Orleans Hornets, and the AFL team of the New Orleans Voodoo.

How about fishing? Let me ask you this... fresh water fishing? Saltwater fishing? Either way, there are so many bodies of water around the Louisiana Coast with some being freshwater, saltwater, and even brackish water, that you really never know what you might catch.

The south is known for its swamp lands. Kind of interesting, isn't it? You can find swamp tours, check out the homes where people live in the middle of the swamps, and much more. What is so special about someone who lives in a swamp? Check out their homes, some are built on stilts, and if you look throughout this site, you will notice that some of the places that people live... there is something missing... a ROAD. These people require a boat, just to get to their house.

The extraordinary part is that someone can live so secluded, in the swamps, but still make it to the city, to have a good time, in just minutes!!

The food of around Southern Louisiana is among the greatest, in my opinion, in the world. Crawfish country, lots of shrimp and crab, jambalaya, fried alligator, gumbo, and just a little west (Lafayette, LA) is home of the best Boudain. Once you've tried it, you'll know what I mean.

There are many sights to see, and things to check out while visiting, or living in the south. You can check out some of the famous plantations (which some say are haunted), Possibly catch a concert at the New Orleans Arena, or some other nightclub, or stop at one of the "drive through Daiquiri Shops" on your way. Come on down at the beginning of February and be a part of the one and only "Mardi Gras."

There are so many things that are of totally different interest, to do or see, that no matter what your personality is... You will have fun.

Check out the rest of these pages to see what might interest you. I will include opinions on things to do and things not to do, sights to see, and what not to see.
